About UMN MDT
United Mission to Nepal Medical and Development Trust (UMN MDT) is a public trust established to transform the lives of poor and marginalized communities. UMN MDT runs United Mission Hospital Tansen (Palpa), Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (Okhaldhunga), and community transformation projects across 11 districts in 4 provinces in partnership with local governments and stakeholders.
Primary Objectives & Core Responsibilities
- Project Implementation: Execute community mobilization activities under the Seed of Change: Roots to Resilience (R2R) project to support UMN MDT's strategic vision in Karnali Province.
- Community & Network Mobilization: Facilitate community meetings, orientation sessions, and capacity-building workshops for local groups and networks.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Maintain strong working relationships with local ward and municipal government authorities, community leaders, and local NGOs.
- Awareness & Advocacy: Address issues related to gender discrimination, harmful traditional practices, and socio-economic challenges in rural settings.
- Reporting & Storytelling: Collect field data, maintain documentation, write activity reports, and compile human interest/success stories.
Required Qualifications & Key Skills
- Educational Background: Minimum 10+2 / Intermediate level completion in any relevant discipline.
- Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of direct experience in social mobilization, community development, and field facilitation in rural communities.
- Local Context Knowledge: Understanding of local languages, cultural practices, and geographical terrain of Karnali Province (Surkhet).
- Communication & Coordination: Proven skills in organizing workshops, building community trust, and coordinating with local government stakeholders.
