Reports To: District Project Coordinator

Duty Station: District Office Rasuwa (field-based in Rasuwa with frequent travel to affected communities)

1. Job Summary

Caritas Nepal, with funding support from CRS, is implementing a flood response project across Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts. We are inviting applications from qualified and dynamic Nepalese citizens for the Protection Officer position. The Officer will lead the protection response, oversee Child-Friendly Safe Spaces (CFS), distribute dignity kits, facilitate access to civil documentation, establish GBV referral pathways, and ensure protection mainstreaming across all project sectors.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Rights, Law, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field (a Bachelor’s degree with strong relevant experience may be considered).
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in protection, child protection, GBV, MHPSS, or humanitarian response programming in Nepal.
  • Demonstrated experience in protection risk assessments, referral pathways, case management, and protection mainstreaming across emergency sectors.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, PSEA, confidentiality, data protection, and Nepal Protection Cluster guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and reporting skills in both English and Nepali.
  •  Ability to work in difficult terrain, temporary settlements, and emergency conditions.
