The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal, the field arm of GWT UK working for ex-Gurkha veterans and their communities across Nepal, is seeking a qualified and committed individual for the position of Vehicle Mechanic / Mechanical Transport Assistant (VM/MT Asst) based at Headquarters in Pokhara!
๐ผ Position Details & Requirements:
๐ Position: Vehicle Mechanic / Mechanical Transport Assistant
๐น Duty Station: Headquarters, Pokhara
๐น Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
๐น Experience: Minimum 3 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance and repair (4WD vehicles required, motorbikes preferred). NGO/INGO fleet management experience is an advantage.
๐น Driving License: Valid Nepali driving license (Categories A & B required; Category F is desirable).
๐น Key Skills: Expertise in petrol/diesel engines, electrical systems, transmission, and preventive maintenance. Must be computer-literate (MS Office) with strong leadership skills.
๐ Key Responsibilities:
๐น Provide in-house preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for the organization's fleet.
๐น Plan maintenance schedules and quality-assure outsourced external garage repairs.
๐น Maintain fleet safety, compliance, and accurate operational records.
๐น Perform senior driving duties and mentor drivers across GWT(N) to promote safe driving practices.
๐ฐ Remuneration & Contract:
๐ต Basic Salary: NPR 76,571 per month (Pay grade EG3L1) + benefits as per GWT(N) rules.
๐ Contract Duration: 3 years (initial contract with possibility of extension).
