About Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (KVSS)
Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (KVSS) is a non-profit organization registered in Surkhet, Nepal, dedicated to empowering vulnerable children and families. Operating in close partnership with the BlinkNow Foundation, KVSS runs a residential Children's Home, Kopila Valley School, women's empowerment initiatives, health & wellness centers, and family development programs.
Core Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Child Health & Hygiene Management: Provide clinical care, manage medications, handle acute sicknesses or injuries, track vaccination schedules, and develop health plans for children with chronic illnesses.
- Child Protection & Safety: Conduct safety and child protection risk assessments, organize disaster preparedness drills, and ensure communicable disease prevention protocols are strictly followed.
- Caregiver Mentorship & Supervision: Guide home caregivers daily on hygiene standards, nutritional monitoring, health routines, and child protection practices.
- Referral & Stakeholder Coordination: Partner with external hospitals, pediatricians, counselors, and health facilities for specialist referrals and mental health support.
- Administrative Documentation: Maintain medical histories, legal records (birth certificates, citizenship documents), inventory tracking for medical supplies, and weekly reporting.
Required Qualifications & Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Background: B.Sc. Nursing, Bachelor's in Nursing (BN), OR Bachelor's in Public Health (BPH) with a PCL in Nursing degree.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical healthcare experience working with children. Experience in residential care or community health settings is highly preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali.
- Essential Skills: Operational and logistical competency, team mentorship capabilities, empathy for vulnerable children, and strong record-keeping capabilities.
