Core Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Safe Transportation: Provide timely, secure, and reliable vehicle transport for CARE staff, project teams, and visitors across field locations in Nuwakot and nearby response areas.
- Logistics & Material Movement: Assist in the orderly loading, transport, dispatch, and delivery of emergency project supplies, shelter items, and relief materials.
- Vehicle Maintenance & Care: Keep assigned CARE vehicles in top physical and mechanical condition. Perform routine engine checks, clean vehicles, and report servicing or repair needs promptly.
- Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain complete vehicle movement logbooks, record fuel consumption accurately, and strictly follow CARE fleet management and safety protocols.
- Safety & Safeguarding: Uphold safety measures during field transit and comply fully with CARE's zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSHEA).
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- License & Technical Skills: Valid Nepalese driving license with a clean driving record and strong road safety practices.
- Experience: Proven experience driving light vehicles/4WDs in off-road, emergency, or difficult terrain (e.g., hill routes affected by landslides or flooding).
- Work Background: Prior work experience with INGOs, NGOs, or development projects in field settings is highly preferred.
- Personal Attributes: Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, basic mechanical troubleshooting skills, and ability to work in fast-paced disaster response environments.
